Detail Shot: The Colette

Good design is all in the detail. Welcome to the weekly series Detail Shot where we'll examine the details of our pieces paired with accessories to change your look.

The Colette Dress is one of our new silhouettes for Dobbin. Our intention in designing the Colette was to add another fit to our Italian Stretch Ponte dress collection; as we grow as a company, we want to keep adding to and refining our line.

The Colette's scoop neckline is deceivingly simple-but we put in a lot of time at fittings getting it to hit in just the right place on your shoulders and collarbone-in order to look both professional and pretty.

We again utilized princess seams and a natural waistline design detail to flatter; the Colette has a subtle fit and flare shape. Like our other very popular ponte dresses, the Colette has three-quarter length sleeves so there's less of a need to layer.

The fabric itself, is of course, more refined and supple than most other pontes on the market-we choose to use the highest quality fabrics available so that they retain shape and color, and feel good when you wear them. Like all of our pontes pieces, we had our mill in Italy custom dye this dress a rich Cobalt blue, a color that has now become a fashion classic. After many rounds of edits, we reached the perfect tone.  It's a hue that brings out a warmth in a majority of skin tones and that can be worn for day or night with a change in accessories.
